On April 10, William Donohue appeared on the Fox News Network show, “The Edge with Paula Zahn.” He debated Jonathan Wilson, a homosexual activist from Iowa, on whether it made sense to award college scholarships to students because they’re gay. Here’s a sound bite from Donohue’s remarks:

“To give people a scholarship simply because of some behavioral characteristic is to me a perversion of the entire academic process. We don’t give people, for example, scholarships because they’re vegetarians, do we. And that’s exactly my point. You define a homosexual not by who he is, the way you would a woman or a black or an Irishman, but by what he does. We know a homosexual by what he does behaviorally. We know a vegetarian by what he does, too. He eats vegetables.”
