The Eternal Gospel Church, a splinter group of the Seventh Day Adventists, has placed its last anti-Catholic newspaper ad in the pages of the Daily Commercial. The ads, which demonize the Catholic Church with charges so absurd that even Phil Donahue might not believe them, have been popping up all over the country. Every time they do we go after them in a flash and in most instances we’re successful.
The Daily Commercial serves the area of Leesburg, Florida, and on October 14 they made the mistake of running the hate ad. We protested, as did local Catholics, and the result is that Jim Perry, the publisher, apologized.
Congratulations to Jim Perry for seeing the light. Would that the Eternal Gospel Church finally do so as well.
