William Donohue will explain why the Catholic League is protesting the Playboy Mansion event and will outline what the league is doing about it.
Both the venue and the timing of the fund-raiser are troubling: Playboy has long been a foe of Catholicism and the party takes place on the Feast of the Assumption, a holy day of obligation for Catholics. A fact sheet will be made available to the press.
The vice president has been notified of the league’s concerns and has been asked to cancel the event. Thus far he has not done so.
